How do I remove red wine stains from carpet in Nairobi?

Red wine is one of the most feared carpet stains, but treated immediately, it is fully removable. Speed is everything.

Immediate Treatment (First 2 Minutes)

1. Blot as much liquid as possible with a clean white cloth — never rub, which spreads and deepens the stain
2. Pour a small amount of cold water over the stain to dilute it; continue blotting
3. Apply salt generously over the damp stain — salt absorbs colour before it sets; leave 3 minutes then sweep up
4. Apply a solution of 1 tbsp dish soap + 1 tbsp white vinegar + 2 cups warm water
5. Work from outside inward with a clean cloth, blotting repeatedly until the stain fades
6. Rinse with clean cold water and blot dry

If the Stain Has Dried

• Rehydrate with warm water and let it soften for 5 minutes
• Apply hydrogen peroxide (test on hidden area first — may lighten some carpet colours)

• Never use hot water — sets the stain permanently
